These items can be accepted at Five Lanes or Llanfoist recycling centres. DIY waste is restricted to five bags or a small car boot load per visit with a maximum of two visits per month.DIY waste refers only to materials arising from small scale works in a householder’s own property. How to amend/cancel a visit
Bags can be collected from the HWRC site Wednesday to Sunday, prior to your disposal booking. From Wednesday 8 April 2026, all visits to the HWRC must be booked in advance. Please note that CCTV is in operation at the tip and staff are fitted with body-worn cameras at all times. Remember that most items can be recycled rather than putting them in the general waste container.Please see the list below to see where the different containers are located.

- You might not receive the usual confirmation email after booking a slot at the Household Waste Recycling Centre.

- A maximum of two people from the same household will be permitted on site, to assist with and to speed up the process of unloading.
Make your way to the weigh bridge on the lower level when you arrive at the recycling centre. You must book a time slot before you come. Slots can be booked online or by telephone, up to seven days in advance.
Landlords and other businesses are strictly prohibited from using the centre and all waste deposited at the site is monitored. If you do not have a Sandwell postcode you will not be able to book.We are unable to accept fridges or freezers at the Household Recycling Centre (tip) Shidas Lane, Oldbury until further notice. From 1 June – 30 September it is casino not on gamstop open 7am – 4pm.Visits to the tip are by pre-booked appointment only.Only Sandwell residents are permitted to use the tip.
If your preferred time/date is not available please keep checking for other available slots. If mixed waste and recycling is brought to the site this is limited to four visits per 28 days; for garden waste only, up to 6 visits per 28 days. If you are booked into the final slot of the day at 3.50pm, you must arrive before 3.55pm to allow for site closure.
